USING SUBJECT PRONOUNS
The following pronouns are
subject pronouns.
Singular: I, you,
he, she, it.
Plural: we, you, they
Subject pronouns are used as
the subject of a sentence. If you are
unsure about what pronoun to use in a compound subject, try dividing the
compound subject into two parts.
Example: Sandra and
I made tuna sandwich.
Sandra
made tuna sandwich.
I made tuna sandwich.
Only a subject pronoun can be
used after a state-of-being verb.
Example: The
preachers were Bob and Tom.
The
manager is he.
Note: The pronoun “us” cannot be used as a subject
or with a noun that is the subject.
Example: Us boys
are going swimming. (Incorrect)
We
boys are going swimming. (Correct)
